Rôles et responsabilités

M. Nkinamubanzi, Ph. D., est un scientifique chevronné qui détient une expertise unique combinant une bonne maîtrise de la science des adjuvants chimiques et des connaissances approfondies en matière de technologies du ciment et du béton. Il possède plus de 25 ans d’expérience en recherche et développement (R-D) sur les interactions entre les systèmes cimentaires et les adjuvants chimiques dans du béton à hautes performances durable. En juillet 2015, il a reçu le prix ACI International Conference Award pour sa contribution exceptionnelle et soutenue à la R-D dans le domaine des adjuvants chimiques pour le béton. Son champ d’expertise s’étend également à l’élaboration de méthodes d’essai pour l’hydratation de pâtes cimentaires, du mortier et du béton en intégrant divers adjuvants chimiques; à l’utilisation d’un grand nombre de matériaux cimentaires classiques et alternatifs dans le béton; et à la durabilité du béton liée aux dommages causés par les réactions alcalis-granulats (RAG) et à la prévention de ceux-ci. Il a joué un rôle important dans de nombreux projets nationaux et internationaux portant sur l’utilisation d’adjuvants chimiques et d’ajouts cimentaires (AC) dans divers types d’applications spécialisées du béton, ainsi que sur la durabilité des structures en béton.

Recherche et / ou projets en cours

  • Ajouts cimentaires et ajouts cimentaires alternatifs (AC et ACA) pour remplacer une partie du ciment dans le béton durable (béton à faible teneur en carbone)
  • Formulations de béton à haute performance à l’aide de matériaux locaux disponibles
  • Béton drainant pour l’atténuation des inondations
  • Impact environnemental des dommages causés aux barrages canadiens en béton par la réaction alcali-silice (RAS)

Énoncés de recherches / projets

Les activités de recherche de PCN visent essentiellement à développer des constituants du béton novateurs afin de réduire l’empreinte environnementale (les émissions de CO2) de l’industrie du ciment et du béton, en harmonie avec les politiques du gouvernement du Canada.

  • Prix pour réalisations exceptionnelles du CNRC de 2021 – prix Collaboration pour l’innovation du CNRC (Projet Nemaska – Équipe A1-015693).
  • Prix de partenariat du Centre de recherche en construction de 2021 pour avoir apporté une contribution exemplaire à l’évaluation de l’utilisation potentielle d’un nouveau silicate d’aluminium dans des formulations de béton, et prôné l’innovation de cette approche et les avantages que le Canada pouvait tirer en établissant une collaboration unique avec une industrie de création récente qui produit de l’énergie verte pour les transports.
  • 2015 : ACI International Conference Award pour ses contributions exceptionnelles et soutenues associées à la recherche et au développement de l’utilisation des superplastifiants et d’autres adjuvants chimiques dans le béton.
  • 2005 : Prix ministériel de RNCan pour la mise en œuvre réussie de la technologie de béton à forte teneur en cendres volantes (BFTCV) en Inde.
