NRC IRAP support for SMEs innovating with artificial intelligence

As more and more Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are working to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to generate growth, the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) is committed to providing support to increase the quality and competitiveness of Canadian AI technologies.

One of these initiatives is NRC IRAP's AI Assist program, which is designed to help innovative SMEs navigate the challenges of developing and adapting generative AI (GenAI) and deep learning (DL) solutions and to assist SMEs with awareness, planning and execution in order to develop these technologies safely and ethically.

AI Assist supports Canadian SMEs in undertaking scientific research, product development, testing and validation of AI technologies, allowing them to incorporate GenAI and DL technologies into their core products and services.

As part of the AI Assist program, NRC IRAP's network of industrial technology advisors across Canada are enabling SMEs to develop and access the right knowledge, computing resources and AI tools needed to carry out research in AI and apply it to their core business.
