Ottawa—A new master plan for the NRC Montreal Road campus

The National Research Council Canada (NRC) is developing a new master plan for its Montreal Road campus in Ottawa. Last undertaken in 1997 and typically done every 25 to 30 years, the master plan will establish objectives that will allow the NRC to meet the goals of its functional and operational research programs over the next 25 years.

The plan will strive to strike the right balance between greater densification of science facilities and preservation of green spaces and woodlots in order to maintain an open space that is welcoming to the public. The plan will also take into account the ongoing changes to the campus and the condition of existing buildings and heritage features as well as anticipate future building needs.
