Attend as an Observer
Meetings of the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes, standing committees and task groups are normally open to the public. Chairs reserve the right to hold a session in camera due to the nature of a subject.
If you wish to attend as an observer, please notify Codes Canada at least two (2) days in advance of the meeting so that seating can be provided.
Participation in committee discussions is normally limited to committee members and assigned staff; however, guests may participate in discussions at the discretion of the Chair. Observers are subject to normal rules of order.
Participate
Members of the public may:
- submit a written brief to be distributed to all committee members
- request time in the agenda for a brief presentation
- request permission to participate in the discussion on a particular subject.
Send a request to participate describing the subject to be discussed. Material for a presentation or for distribution to the committee members must be received at least four (4) weeks in advance of the meeting. Participation is at the discretion of the Chair.
