Support for technology innovation

New governance framework for cleantech funding

On June 4, 2024, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, announced that over the coming months, Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) programming will transition to the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). This transition will ensure continued support for clean technology innovations, crucial for meeting Canada's climate targets.

NRC IRAP to be integrated into the new Canada Innovation Corporation (CIC)

On December 19, 2023, the Government of Canada announced that the full implementation of the Canada Innovation Corporation (CIC) will take place no later than 2026-27.

The National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) will remain with the NRC until that time and employees will continue to work directly with clients.

Please contact your IRAP representative directly if you have questions or are seeking more information.

The National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) provides advice, connections, and funding to help Canadian small and medium-sized businesses increase their innovation capacity and take ideas to market.
