The National Research Council of Canada's (NRC) Aerospace Research Centre and the NRC's Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) participated in a presentation and discussion with the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Québec (CRIAQ) this week at the International Paris Air Show. We discussed our recent collaboration with Transport Canada on Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) projects.
The RPAS collaboration is strengthening Canada's foothold in the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) industry and will help inform Transport Canada's regulatory framework for safe yet economically viable RPAS use. We are contributing our expertise and technologies in UAV to perform strategic research. The Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada (CARIC) will manage the relationships with academia and industry to support the selected projects. The deadline to apply is August 15, 2019.
