Joey Sheff

Joey Sheff started his postdoctoral fellowship with the Human Health Therapeutics Research Centre at the National Research Council of Canada immediately after completing his PhD in bioanalytical chemistry at the University of Calgary in the fall of 2017.

Joey was tasked with investigating how antibodies can be better leveraged across the blood-brain barrier using his expertise and education in mass spectrometry and chemistry.

"My work is centered on understanding the mechanism underlying the delivery of therapeutic antibodies across the blood-brain barrier," he explains. "I am also helping to solidify the role of structural proteomics in improving our antibody portfolio."

"The NRC offered a platform to perform research with tangible outcomes in Canadian communities, which is the major reason I gladly accepted the opportunity to become a postdoctoral fellow."

Joey is also a fan of the great outdoors. When he is not in the lab, he can be found planning his next mountain adventure.
