Based in Saskatoon, technical officer Jennifer Brost, has been with the NRC for over 10 years and is currently a member of the Aquatic and Crop Resource Development Research Centre's cell technologies team. The cell technologies team works closely with industry partners and other research organizations to produce tissue culture-derived plants, perform proof-of-concept experiments and to develop tissue culture protocols. The high level of collaboration required for each task is at the core of Jennifer's level of job satisfaction and the source of her enthusiasm for working at the NRC.
"The best part of my job is the people I get to work with. I love what I do, but it's made better by working with fantastic people; not just the people in my lab but everyone I encounter throughout the day. I love working in this building full of exceptional people. I'm inspired by the great women I get to work with at the NRC, from in the lab to management and all the levels in between. I look at the achievements these women accomplish and it makes me strive to do my best in everything I undertake, and to push myself to take on new challenges."
