Why do we do microgravity research? - Transcript
[On screen: Duff Gowanlock, Research test flight engineer]
We do microgravity here at NRC to help astronauts, scientists and engineers understand the effects of microgravity on their equipment and experiments before they put those equipment and experiments into space.
You can imagine… getting an experiment or an object up to the international space station is quite expensive, and so we do risk reduction work/research here at the National Research Council to make sure that those experiments work properly before they go through the expense of a spaceflight launch.
