Multimedia Analytic Tools for Security program

""

In today's digital world, the ability to quickly and efficiently make sense out of big data (mass amounts of information) is a critical component of the intelligence cycle. The Multimedia Analytic Tools for Security (MATS) program brings together end-users and industry partners to create software-based analytic solutions that will aid in finding critical information with greater precision and speed.

The main deliverables of the program are software algorithms and prototypes that will advance solutions beyond those currently available to national security and public safety analysts. The MATS program will enable Canadian national security agencies and public safety organizations to rapidly increase their analysis and data surveillance capacity with the aim of matching or exceeding the exponential growth of digital information.

Collaboration opportunities

To develop, test and deliver intelligence analytics solutions, NRC currently seeks to collaborate with:

  • intelligence and security agencies
  • industry leaders in intelligence analysis and data analytics
  • systems integrators
  • software and hardware partners

Technologies developed within the MATS initiative will be applicable to other verticals outside defence and security that require advanced analytic capabilities, such as oil and gas, healthcare, education, business intelligence and language translation. As such, NRC invites other market verticals to contact us and learn how our advanced analytics capabilities can help transform data into actionable intelligence that can optimize the speed and accuracy of your decision support systems.

Collaborator benefits

Within analytics, NRC is unique in its breadth and in the robustness of its component technologies. NRC technologies are consistently ranked first in international evaluations.

By working with us and applying our technology, industry partners will gain a distinct competitive advantage in the international security market. They will gain access to advanced technologies for new products, access to advanced expertise, and testing under real‑world conditions.

In addition, NRC partners will benefit from reduced risk in the early stage of new technology development, deploy innovative and competitive information and communications technology products in the global marketplace.

End users will likewise benefit by having a voice in the development of future technologies and from next‑generation tools and products that will enable them to keep pace with today's information analysis demands.
