Pre-clinical research and development

After novel biologics have been identified as lead candidates, teams at the Human Health Therapeutics Research Centre help advance them through the rigorous pre-clinical evaluation required prior to entering clinical trials.

We know that high-quality and reliable data generated at the pre-clinical stage are critical to successful biologics development. Our teams work with industry, academia and government clients to help evaluate promising candidates, de-risk development processes and provide the documentation needed to move through the development process.

We have small-scale manufacturing capabilities and expertise in in vivo and in vitro pre-clinical testing:

• Pharmacokinetics (PK) studies to support safety and efficacy evaluation
• Biodistribution studies using optical imaging
• Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) data analysis
