In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many Canadian organizations looked to the NRC for expertise in medical devices, engineering, biology, and health and safety equipment, or to support them in advancing innovative COVID-19 solutions through testing, validation, and advice. To help address these needs and requests from various sectors, we created the Community Support Initiative.

Community Support Initiative provides front door to NRC COVID-19 response

To date, the NRC addressed over 900 requests ranging from those seeking advice on standards and testing to those wanting to work with the NRC on projects to combat COVID-19.

Helping Canadian industry produce ventilators

Canadian businesses mobilized their efforts by coming together under different national and provincial consortia to accelerate the production of 40,000 ventilators requested by the federal government.
