Manchester, United Kingdom, May 14 to 16, 2019
As Canada's EUREKA National Office, the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is leading a delegation of Canadian innovators to the 2019 EUREKA Global Innovation Summit in Manchester, United Kingdom from May 14 to 16.
The Global Innovation Summit is an international meeting place for businesses and innovation agencies to share knowledge, network, collaborate, and secure future business growth opportunities. Each year the event attracts nearly 1,700 participants from over 45 countries.
This will be a great opportunity for Canadian businesses, researchers, and industry representatives to connect, engage, and build relationships that could open the door to new opportunities for co-innovation with partners in Europe and beyond.
Theme: operationalizing artificial intelligence
Canada has a solid international reputation in artificial intelligence (AI), with strong capabilities and significant activity in this sector. This year, the delegation from Canada will include small and medium-sized businesses and researchers focused on integrating AI into operational industrial products and processes at scale.
Since joining EUREKA in 2012, 126 Canadian innovators, mostly small and medium-sized businesses, have used the network to pursue more than 125 projects with international partners in more than 23 countries valued at over CAD 433 million. The NRC's participation in EUREKA helps Canada fulfill its commitment to better position firms in new markets and leverage R&D funds for market-oriented products and services.
