Richard Chénier is managing director of Startup Montréal, an organization that plays a central role in the effort to make Quebec a global leader in creating and growing responsible and sustainable startups and ensuring their economic viability.

Previously, as CEO of Centech, one of the top-performing university-based incubators according to UBI Global, he was able to drive innovation and bring ground-breaking projects to success. His significant contributions led him to being recognized by Urbania magazine in 2018 as one of 50 individuals shaping the extraordinary in Quebec.

Richard has been a member of the Conseil de l'innovation du Québec since 2021 and, beginning in 2023, has been providing strategic advice to the Quebec government as part of the Ax-C project, an initiative that will create a world-class entrepreneurial innovation hub in Montréal.

Before moving into the innovation and startup space, Richard led ÉTS Formation, one of Quebec's main professional development and continuing education services. During his time at ÉTS, he shared his expertise and knowledge with over 10,000 managers. Richard continues to work with the Institut de leadership en gestion, where he helps others learn how to maximize the performance of teams and organizations.
