International Innovation Office
Marta Farsang was appointed Executive Director (acting) of the NRC's International Innovation Office in May 2022, after serving as Director for the International Relations Office for 3 years.
Prior to joining the NRC, Ms. Farsang was Director of External Relations at Defence Research and Development Canada from 2015 to 2019. Over the last two decades, Ms. Farsang also served in various advisory positions at the Department of National Defence, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, where she advanced international relationships, negotiated agreements and facilitated science partnerships.
Ms. Farsang holds a master's degree in international relations from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, Canada, an advanced master's degree in European studies from the University of Basle, Switzerland, and a magister diploma from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, Germany.
When not working, Ms. Farsang enjoys hiking with friends and her dogs, playing tennis and practicing yoga, as well as reading and watching movies with family.
