Roles and responsibilities
Adam joined the NRC most recently from the Government of Alberta, where he worked as a portfolio lead & director with the ministries of Health, Infrastructure, and Seniors & Housing.
At NRC, Adam is playing a key role in the Low Carbon Regulatory Solutions thrust of the Platform to Decarbonize the Construction Sector at Scale, and the development of the National Building Code of Canada.
A Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects, a regulated member of seven professional organizations in five countries, he is the Past Chair of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (YEG), and the Past President of the Canadian chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He taught at several European universities, and served above Arctic Circle with the Government of Nunavut.
Adam completed a six-years Bachelor in Architecture and received his post graduate diploma in Restoration of Monuments, Ensembles and Historic Sites in collaboration with The School of Chaillot in France. Further, he earned a Masters in Urban Planning from University of Montreal, and a Masters in Civil Engineering from École de Technologie Supérieure ÉTS in Montreal. To overcome the complexity of human settlements, Adam completed a PhD Degree ‘Cum Laude’ in Urban History in a Global Context.
