Team Lead for the Controlled Environment Agriculture team within ACRD.

Technical Lead for the food theme of the Arctic and Northern Challenge Program.

Current research and/or projects

My team is currently focused on various aspects of controlled environment agriculture with an emphasis on how this approach can be used effectively in remote communities. We currently have projects exploring the production of berry crops indoors, the rapid domestication of a raspberry species for indoor agriculture, methods for automated monitoring of plant growth and health within dense cropping systems and technologies to improve the efficiency and reduce the environmental footprint of these systems. We also have projects investigating the role of extracellular vesicles in plant-pathogen interactions.
