Roles and responsibilities
Dr. Isar Nejadgholi is the Team Lead of the Text Analytics and Natural Language Processing team, and a Senior Research Scientist at the Digital Technologies Research Centre of the National Research Council Canada (NRC). She is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa. With 15 years of experience designing and deploying machine learning systems across industry and research, her work sits at the intersection of Natural Language Processing, responsible AI, and AI for social impact. Before joining NRC, she was the Head of AI Research at IMRSV Data Labs (Renamed as Anvil), where she led a team of researchers and engineers delivering AI solutions for Canadian businesses. At NRC, she has contributed to several collaborations with the Canadian AI Safety Institute, including international safety evaluation efforts. Dr. Nejadgholi has published more than 70 peer-reviewed papers in top-tier journals and conferences, and her work aims to bridge technical innovation with societal impact in high-stakes, cross-cultural contexts.
