User’s Guide – National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2017

The User’s Guide to the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2017 is designed to complement the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2017 by providing additional background information as well as detailed examples and calculations. This interim edition of the Code improves the overall energy performance of buildings over the 2015 edition and represents an important step toward Canada’s goal on energy efficiency for new buildings, as presented in the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change.

This edition of the User’s Guide has been updated to address the introduction of more stringent building envelope requirements and lighting power allowances in the Code, and to include examples on demand control ventilation for commercial kitchens and energy recovery systems. The User’s Guide is an ideal training tool for educators and trainers.
