[CCMC evaluation requirements] CAN/ULC-S711.1-11, Class 1

From: National Research Council Canada

This document provides a summary of the minimum requirements imposed by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) for all evaluations based on the below criteria document. Additional requirements may be imposed by the CCMC when necessary for a particular evaluation, and are detailed in the individual evaluation.

Criteria document

Scope

These evaluations apply to thermal insulating, bead-applied, 2-component polyurethane foam, intended for use as an insulating air sealant for both building and non-building applications. This 2-component polyurethane air sealant is prepackaged at the factory. The continuous-use temperature is within the range of –60°C to +110°C.

The standard referenced below covers bead-applied, 2-component polyurethane air sealant foam, whether it is applied on a building site or in a prefabrication (manufacturing) process. This standard includes test methods to determine the material properties and provides a means of comparing different polyurethane air sealant foams. These tests are intended for use in specifications, product evaluations and quality control.

Products conforming to this standard are classified as Class 1, 2 or 3 in accordance with their flame-spread and smoke developed values.

The following requirements are for Class 1 products.

Material requirements

The evaluation holder must demonstrate that the product meets the following requirements (additional requirements may be imposed by the CCMC when necessary, and are detailed in the individual evaluation):
