  Conditions and limitations

The CCMC’s compliance opinion is bound by this product being used in accordance with the conditions and limitations set out below.

  • The product can be used to tape butt joints in the "Tyvek HomeWrap Breather Type Sheathing Membrane" (see CCMC 12808-R).  It is permitted to be used in residential construction subject to the following conditions:
    • the tape can be applied at temperatures as low as –10°C, but adhesion will increase with warmer temperatures;
    • the product shelf life is one year from the date of receipt by the retailer when stored under optimum conditions of 21°C and 50% relative humidity.
  • The product must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s current instructions, which include the following recommendations:
    • the surface to which the tape is applied should be dry and free of oil and other contamination; and
    • to ensure satisfactory adhesion, the tape should be firmly pressed down onto the substrate after application.
  • The product must be clearly identified with the phrase "CCMC 14190-R."
