Product description

The products are one-component polyurethane expanding foams, which can be used as sealants to control air leakage at penetrations (e.g., in window and door frames) within the DuPont® Tyvek® Homewrap™ air barrier system. The products are packaged in pressurized containers, which are available in various sizes.

The durability of the products was assessed with the following substrates at the window/wall interface.

The products containing the word “Fireblock” as part of the name have not been evaluated to conform to Sentence 3.1.11.7.(1) of the National Building Code of Canada 2010 (NBC 2010). As such, the products have not been tested to CAN/ULC-S101, “Fire Endurance Tests of Building Construction and Materials” to obtain a fire resistance rating.

As per CAN/ULC-S710.1-11, the one-component air sealant foam must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and CAN/ULC-S710.2-11, “Standard for Thermal Insulation – Bead-Applied One Component Polyurethane Air Sealant Foam – Part 2: Installation.”

The time period before occupancy is one (1) day plus one (1) hour.

Use of Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) assessments

This assessment must be read in the context of the entire CCMC Registry of Product Assessments, any applicable building code or by-law requirements, and/or any other regulatory requirements (for example, the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, etc.).
