Product information

Product name

4001 series resins

Product description

The product is a phenol resorcinol formaldehyde adhesive for engineered wood products.

The 4001 resin series, numbered 4001 to 4001-8, varies in alkalinity to regulate the gel and cure speed of the adhesive. The 5830 hardener series is a ready-to-use liquid for use with automatic meter mix equipment and direct application extrusion. The hardener series offers 2 types, either the 5830E or the 5830S, which differ by reactivity. The 5830E series hardeners are used with conventional heating equipment or with a room temperature cure above 18°C. The 5830S is formulated to tolerate long assembly times.

The adhesive is designed to be used as the primary adhesive in the manufacture of structural wood products, such as glued-laminated beams, I-joists and structural finger joints, which are used under exterior exposure conditions.
