Conditions and limitations
The CCMC’s compliance opinion is bound by this product being used in accordance with the conditions and limitations set out below.
- The products are permitted for taping butt joints in Tyvek® HomeWrap® Breather Type Sheathing Membrane (see CCMC 12808-R), Tyvek® HomeWrap® – Air Barrier Material (see CCMC 12857-R), Tuck® NovaWrap™ (see CCMC 13292-R), and Tuck® NovaWrap™ – Air Barrier Material (see CCMC 13329-R). The products are also permitted for use in new and existing residential construction, subject to the following conditions:
- the tape can be applied at temperatures as low as −10°C, but adhesion will increase with warmer temperatures; and
- the product shelf life is one year from the date of receipt by the retailer when stored under optimum conditions of 21°C and 50% relative humidity.
- The product must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s current instructions, which include the following recommendations:
- the surface to which the tape is applied should be dry and free of oil and other contamination; and
- to ensure satisfactory adhesion, the tape should be firmly pressed down onto the substrate after application.
- The product must be clearly identified with the phrase “CCMC 11955-R.”
This evaluation is based on demonstrated conformance with the following criteria:
